25 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 1901: hi
25 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 1901: nice ~
good luck ~
25 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: jesus
we turned into a live game now?!
25 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: okay.
i really have to take myself off this....
really have to start reading....
though it is really really fun
25 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: a) You could have moved Paris to Burgundy instead because it gives you two options i.e. Munich and Belgium. Depending on how I move, you may want to bounce me out of Munich.

b) You could have moved Marseilles to Piedmont for the same reason - you can bounce me out of Venice. An army in Spain isn't going anywhere meaningful without a convoy, and in 1v1 games a convoy isn't really meaningful unless it is covering a long distance as part of a greater strategy (e.g. Naples to Syria and land at Turkey's backyard)
25 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 1901: Nice convoy to Britain though - an army is more efficient than a fleet there ~
25 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 1902: well you can always ignore this: you got 2 days for every phase ~
25 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 1902: Always build near the war front unless the build at the back serves a special purpose ~

So in this case you could have built an army in Marseilles instead of Brest. And since your army in Spain can cover Marseilles, it'll be even better to build a fleet in Brest, and then you can take Portugal in Autumn.
26 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 1902: GameMaster: Austria voted for a Pause. If everyone votes Pause the game stop and wait till everybody votes Unpause. Please consider backing this.
26 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 1902: noted.
i realise you really need to think A LOT when you are playing this game- still. takes your mind off things
26 Nov 12 UTC Spring, 1902: get what you mean
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 1902: can i ask- what's the purpose of getting into burgandy?
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 1902: Haha of course - both tactics and negotiation need brain power ~

Both Picardy and Burgundy give you access to Belgium, but from Burgundy you can exclusively go to Munich too. Picardy exclusively gives London, but:
a) You need to convoy to London, which ties down your fleet; and,
b) In 1v1 games it's all about inhibiting the growth of your opponent by denying him new centres and getting his existing centres. If you move to Burgundy you can bounce me out of Munich.
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 1902: So, following that, you could have moved Paris to Burgundy and Spain to Marseilles, because:
a) my army in Venice would probably move west when seeing Marseilles is empty; and,
b) Burgundy gives access to two of your home centres so you would probably like to make sure I don't trample into it

Or else it will be what is happening now - I am taking Marseilles for sure, while you also risk losing Paris.
26 Nov 12 UTC Autumn, 1902: And this is why you want to defend your home centre with all costs - without them you cannot build. So in this case, despite you can have two builds, since you got only Brest as your vacant home centre, you can only build one unit ...
19 Dec 12 UTC Autumn, 1902: GameMaster: France voted for a Unpause. If everyone votes Unpause the game will continoue. Please consider backing this.
19 Dec 12 UTC Autumn, 1903: Why didn't you move North Sea ... ? To Norway or Denmark, or even Heligoland Bight, whatever - just move!
19 Dec 12 UTC Spring, 1904: What good will it do if you have my home supply centers?@@
19 Dec 12 UTC So good, because you can't build without them.
19 Dec 12 UTC I can shoot up to 18 centres and win this turn, believe it or not.
