06 Mar 14 UTC | Spring, 1903: I made a critical error in my opening in this game. I moved the fleet from Constantinople to Bulgaria, instead of to Aegean. My way is slower. It might cost me the game. |

07 Mar 14 UTC | Well played! My early mistake was costly, but I'm not sure it lost the game for me. |
07 Mar 14 UTC | I suppose also that I should attack StP earlier. |
07 Mar 14 UTC | Thanks Chris! I find that the opening moves are critical in almost any game we play, whether it is diplomacy, catan or even monopoly (or our version of it). I also thought about StP being a very important strategic position. Contesting it earlier might prove to be a good strategy as it will draw some of England's resources to the north. I was just the phone with my cousin Ruan Naudé for 1,5 hours, and as it's pretty late I am not going to put my orders in now, especially seeing as they are opening moves and require a bit of thought. Also, I wanted to call Graham, but I forgot what the other thing I should talk to him about was, besides him lecturing at Stellenbosch. Do you remember? I am looking forward to our next games. |
