20 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1902: Do you play here exclusively or on webDip also?
20 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1903: I've played at webDip too, just trying to learn AvsF here, it's nice to be able to select A or F if you want a rematch with someone and prefer to either swap countries or retry with the same countries...
20 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1904: This game got interesting quickly :D
20 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1904: Yeah, right about the time you took Bur, that is the kind of lesson I am looking to learn! :(
20 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1905: Um. I think I set to build in Bud twice by accident.
20 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1905: If you want a few tips, I'd be happy to talk a bit about this game (After it's finished, so I don't lose :D)
20 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1905: I'd very much appreciate any and every tip you have for me, thanks in advance!
20 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1905: Will be typing a bit slowly since I'm on phone, but a few things:

ENG Bur Pie (the 'Swiss' opening) is absolutely incredible against inexperienced players, because inexperienced players rarely order to Ven with the fleet. It can also work against good players, but not if they predict it, because Tri-Ven counters it *hard*. I knew you'd use that opening because I took a quick look through your past games when we started, and you always do it, so I got an advantage in the first year.

Will post more later...
20 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1906: Thanks! Have been looking for a reason to not open that way...
20 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1906: There's one other good French opening, which is the Waffle (ENG Pic Bur), so I'd advise if you come up against a player who plays FvA at a high level in the near future, use that one, since they'll be expecting you to use the Swiss from your game history. It's fine to continue to use Swiss against most people, though.
20 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1906: Another thing is, regardless of which opening you go with, the fleet should go to London and not Belgium. That's because it can be really difficult to pick up London later in the game, whereas you often find yourself in a position where it's easy to walk into Belgium without losing your momentum (well, if you open with the Waffle you take both in 01 anyway, so this is mainly for the Swiss).
20 Aug 17 UTC Autumn, 1906: Also having a fleet in Baltic Sea quickly is much better than putting it in Holland - Baltic gives a huge amount of control over Scandinavia, Germany, and sometimes allows you a sneaky convoy into Livonia.
20 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1907: I typically go to London, but with how things unfolded early I thought I'd try using the fleet to help secure the stalemate line in Mun/Ber, I wanted the fleet available to help with Kiel in fall 1902...
20 Aug 17 UTC Spring, 1907: That's definitely not unreasonable, but it delayed your ability to get into Baltic for a full year, which would normally kill your chances of getting Berlin. A better way to pressure Germany in that opening situation would have been ordering Bur-Bel, ENG-Lon, Pie-Tyo in F01 - that also has the benefit of tying down a lot of Austria's new units.
20 Aug 17 UTC That's a great tip, thanks!
20 Aug 17 UTC Well played!
