15 Mar 18 UTC Spring, 1901: Info: This is a choose your country game.
08 May 18 UTC Gratz all. I saw no way of soloing and was afraid one of the others might be closer to a solo and weakening the wrong nation would just give the other strong one a chance to pull it off.

Well fought, BobRoss and Grahamso1. You both worked hard at denying me footholds into your territories. Dr. Rec, I didn't get to see much of you until the end, but it looks like you were getting a break from Austrian and German aggression as they were having to fight me off.

I'd probably have ended up support holding StP along with my Southern holdings and never made progress further into Germany, so this was the right outcome.
08 May 18 UTC Glad that this game has been brought to a Draw and I finally gained some points in this tournament haha.

My draw vote was grounded in my certain belief that there were 2 larger powers in play than my empire, yet me being unable to identify whether that was going to Austria or France (and risking helping either one to a Solo by going after the other).

Excellent play by by you, YCHTT, considering the early aggression you experienced by Italy (which does properly suck for any France player haha). Also, great defensive block by Grahamso to stop your expansion in the Med.
08 May 18 UTC Grats all. Sorry I couldn’t give y’all a fight. I completely misread Russia’s intention. Twice. Well played Dr.Rec
08 May 18 UTC Actually bob I was thinking solo until France appeared in the med. I was at 11 and probably could take Russia if I was unmolested. But I just couldn’t quite tell what was going on to my north. With 4 players left, Russia defending to his north but not on last legs, France strong but Germany at least in Munich I probably should have been bolder. I didn’t want to gift a solo by keeping attacking Russia until I had fixed my France problem. I had just stabilised against France and was ready to expand elsewhere. If the draw hadn’t gone through I would probably have withdrawn it next round. But a lack of fleets against Turkish territory would probably have stopped me anyway. I do love FoW a lot (though I sucked this tournament, cough cough, I mean was desperately unlucky and picked on. Thanks everyone
08 May 18 UTC For the most part, I'm am seriously outclassed by this group, but you all are great to play with and I will gladly join any game with the 6 of you..
08 May 18 UTC Agreed 100% it makes a huge difference knowing everyone will behave (mostly) rationally to maximise their result. Even if it means mending alliances and swallowing pride. There is no throwing of SCs or grabbing SCs knowing it helps a third person solo and so on. Ie he way the game is designed

08 May 18 UTC Amen
08 May 18 UTC Good game. My ratings continue to plummet.
09 May 18 UTC Good one. Agreed on the comments above. And tantrumizer, if I could donate my ratings to you I would. I’ve always noticed that you’ll play any game with anyone, ratings be damned. As it should be. Much respect. Too many top players shelter their ratings to the detriment of the community.
09 May 18 UTC Thanks Dr R. I'm not afraid to lose, although I don't like doing it a dozen times in a row. ;-)
