09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (ezpickins): I'm interested to see how this compares to the Public mode. Have we reached a decision about what to do in case someone is in a position they shouldn't be due to their relationship? I don't know if the warning is sufficient if it grants you a tactical advantage. |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Swede03): Maybe the moderator can give them a free sc if they are close enough. |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Momentbruh): This sounds really interesting |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Player5): Yeah, I'll make a ruling and try to give compensation for the mistake. Its a lot easier to make on the fly calls when I'm not actually playing! |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (mazechamp): I just wanted to say thank you to Player5 for moderating this! This seems really interesting, I'm excited to see how this goes!! |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (ScubaSteve): If a player(s) makes a move that they shouldn't, couldn't the turn be rolled back and any offending unit made to enter a "hold" order. Might be a pain... but certainly less of one than being a moderator forced to decide if a mistake is made in "good faith" or not. That would be a nightmare. |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (ScubaSteve): In any case, thank you to the heroes that set this up. |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Player5): It depends on the type of move, for many cases that seems reasonable, but what if they captured a center and it was fall? Or something like that... Ideally, no one is going to break the rules so hopefully this doesn't happen! |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (ScubaSteve): If they captured a center and it was fall, the move would be readjudicated as if they simply held. |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (ScubaSteve): Not that I'm telling the person doing all this work how to serve me. I'm grateful for the chance to play. |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Player5): But whoever they took the center from would still lose a build they would otherwise have had? The one who unlawfully took the center shouldn't be able to build with the extra unit, but there is still some about of weirdness that would be hard to "back up" I'm not sure what to do there... Probably just let them keep it, though under (rather specific) certain circumstances it would make sense to have them move out and give the build back to whoever they took it from? |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Player5): Haha!! Don't worry! I appreciate any feedback! |
09 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Player5): Haha!! Don't worry! I appreciate any feedback! |
11 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (CYFI): A person can only change their relationship by 1 level per relationship-change phase. For example Florida and Cuba are allies in fall 1902, but one wants to go to war. Would the relationship in Spring 1903 be war or Friendly? |
11 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (CYFI): Whoops that was supposed to be a question. |
11 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Player5): War, the states can flip on a dime, so the amount of security they offer is limited... It could be interesting to have it change by one, but that's not how this game works! |
11 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (CYFI): Thanks, will a person be alerted if somebody declares war on them? |
11 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Player5): They will once they get their new states but not when it is "privately recognized" |
11 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Piplup): Let's let the mod survive! |
11 Sep 20 UTC | Spring, 1999: (Piplup): Thanks for setting this up |
