17 Mar 21 UTC Spring, 2012: It's an interesting map. Isn't it?
18 Mar 21 UTC Spring, 2012: Not bad but not very balanced. It is quite difficult to win it for Central Africa or Nigeria.

31 Mar 21 UTC Spring, 2015: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Madagascar replacing "Mikking". Reconsider your alliances.
03 Apr 21 UTC Spring, 2016: GameMaster: Madagascar voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.

06 Jun 21 UTC Hey guys. Thanks for the game.
It is sad that DRC turned against me at some point. I rooted for the draw in the first place. Even sadder that Madagascar did not understand that he did not need to attack DRC to avoid my solo.
06 Jun 21 UTC Beautiful match. I could not more than what I did. Squeezed between Morocco and DMC, from the beginning, I also risked being eliminated. I think the one who really threw the game away is Morocco (and in this version, if Morocco doesn't win, Nigeria wins).
06 Jun 21 UTC Well, whom would you have suggested me to attack to avoid your solo ?
07 Jun 21 UTC Nobody. That is the point. You should have not attack DRC. He might have hold the line
07 Jun 21 UTC Sorry, but passing the turns without attacking nobody, it is not my stile.
I didn’t touch Ethiopia to let him attacking you. DRC was useless in this scheme
07 Jun 21 UTC I just stepped in to replace the old DRC during the final turn of this game, so perhaps I’m out of line with my analysis, but since I’ve looked through the game turn by turn from the start, I’ll say this:

Nigeria, you played an incredible game. Your early and constant pressure on Azawad and Agadez kept Morocco on his heels the whole time, and he never got a chance to abuse the natural strength of his starting position. You resisted the temptation to gang up on Mali for some easy expansion, waiting for the perfect moment to stab him when you knew you could handle both him and Morocco. Your victory was well deserved.

Still, it’s clear why the old DRC resigned out of frustration - he recognized the inevitability of a Nigerian solo as early as 2026, and ceased his attacks on everyone else to bring units into position to defend against Nigeria. But of course, neither of you stopped attacking him, not even for a single turn.

Ethiopia, hindsight from an outside observer is 20/20, so don’t take this as a criticism. If you had reciprocated DRC’s desire for peace in 2026, rather than continuing to invade, the stalemate line could’ve been set at that moment. And you may have been able to save this game as late as 2031 if you’d turned on Madagascar to prevent him from jeopardizing the entire game instead of piling onto DRC. You had the opportunity to take Mozambique but went after Zimbabwe instead, sealing your fate. Had you drawn Madagascar's attention away from DRC, he would have been able to hold the line (and probably wouldn’t have resigned the game out of frustration). Still, I’ll concede that it would have been risky, as you didn’t have the fleets to match Madagascar in the Indian Ocean, though you could’ve built one instead of an army in DES.

As for Madagascar... well, it might be time to reconsider your style if you want to start drawing more often. A quick peek through your game history shows this is a common theme - you enable solos by refusing to work together with those trying to prevent it. You’d rather expand your territory at any cost while ignoring the global situation, and spite your enemies rather than turn them into allies when necessary. But hey, I’m not your professor so feel free to ignore my “lesson”...
07 Jun 21 UTC And there you have it... Thanks for the great analysis, Chutbugger, as always
07 Jun 21 UTC I am looking forward to it once Europe en Flamme will be over in a few months
07 Jun 21 UTC Great analysis indeed. Thanks
07 Jun 21 UTC Yes, I agree with your analysis. The idea of a "peace" with DMC came to me and I admit I missed the opportunity. But without direct diplomacy it was difficult to understand each other and very easy to take a counterattack. Maybe I sinned for "laziness" :-D I was also afraid that a peace, not certain, with DMC meant a war, certain, with Madagascar. Not building fleets was also deliberate. I wanted to reassure Madagascar. Patience went like this .. congratulations to Nigeria who played a perfect match!
07 Jun 21 UTC Dear Chuttbugger, I am only a substitute in that game. I took Madagascar few turns before you. You’re analyze is fair but mostly apply to my predecessor.
