What happened to the 36 h phases? I'd join if there's no processing on Sundays...

Jimbo instead of critisizing could you please change the pot of the game to 63 and make it 36 hour phases? That would really help everyone a bunch.

I'm not bothered on the map, as long as it isn't too big. I've been put off big maps recently. I also hope you don't mind me gate-crashing your game, goldfinger, given that I don't think we have actually played together before...

I'll do anything but world. I like to keep it at 10 or fewer players. I prefer European maps as well but will play others. That is if you want me.

Abstraction III is fun. Familiar map over all but more players and a couple of twists.

Well and non-game related commentary, which you said in your first post.

That's your right. Whatever. It's just not my cup of tea. I'll try a game or two and then be on my way.

The issue is that the forums are focus on Dip gaming, and upon the various supplementary tools for the gaming experience, specifically advertising for new players, replacements, sitters, etc. The site is not designed to host multiple off topic chats, and those conversations are generally unwelcomed here by most users, chiefly because they clog up the forums.

It should be rocket science to understand that neither VDip nor WebDip are set up to host message board type forums. Accordingly the nitwittery becomes an undue burden upon those attempting to play Dip here, and it is rather disrespectful to persistently ignore that as well as repeated *polite* requests from the moderators to stop.

Now maybe it's possible to modify the forums in a way to achieve the wave of new chat topics without disrupting the desired gaming environment. Maybe that would be a compromise, but I suspect that it would require a great deal of time and some funds to accomplish this. There are Dip sites that offer extensive chat forums(Redsacpe offers regular discussions on history, religion, politics, beer, investments, and sports along side Diplomacy games, but it works well there because the site is a message board based interface. They ditched the automated Web Dip platform there two years ago, and moved back to forum/email gaming exclusively.
