Interesting problem, if anyone kindly has a view. I'm in 4 games, with a couple about to close and I decided to join a new one... only to be told that I'm having trouble keeping up with the ones I have and I cannot join another. I have a reliability rating of over 99%. What other factor may be affecting this please?

I'm thinking maybe a 7-10 player game, longer-ish phases (2-3 day at least) for better diplomacy.

I"m not personally a huge fan of Fog, but I'd be willing to do an unrated one along with a regular game if people want to.

If Ruffhaus would be in, I think me, him, YCHTT, Leif, and Jimbo would make a great core of people. Just a couple more for a real solid game.

AH YCHTT, but Rinascimento is just the bomb! In an unrated game, it makes for a good time except for the poor player who draws France (and usually Turkey too)!

I'd play unrated Rin for the fun, but never rated. Drano was talking of a rated game.

I have more games on my plate than I'd like to, but I have advocated a group playing a few unrated games of Rinasceimento for some time, so that we can appropriately gather some feedback on the variant. It's long been my opinion that the starting positions are not as challenging as imbalanced as they appear, and that a lack of actual diplomacy is what drives the imbalance. That may or may not be the case, but the PPSC scoring model make Rinascimento a mess. Sadly that is all we have here to model feedback off of. So a few unrated games among experienced players would help get some fresh perspective on it.

I'm happy for whatever, although FoW isn't overly interesting to me. I've never minded Rinasceimento.

Well then, unrated Rinascimento appears to be a solid choice! I'm down for it. That makes 4 of us. Rounding up reliable, talkative players is the real challenge. I think Leif would be a 5th, so only 7 more needed. Who's still around?

How does the no sat/sun processing work? Say the turn is due to flip at noon Saturday, does the timer just stop at midnight, meaning it'll adjudicate at noon on Monday instead? I'm totally fine with that since weekends are always tough for Diplomacy.

You have to be careful with no sat/sun processing, as it is UTC time based, but otherwise yes it just bumps it by the 24hrs for each no processing day the deadline falls on.

Count me in for Rinascimento. I prefer rated except when it comes to that variant.
