Quote Association Thread
Hello! I saw a thread like this scrawled on the wall of a Guatemalan insane asylum deep in the jungle primeval. We start with a quote, and you then post the one quote that pops into your mind after you read that quote. The first word is FIRST.

“The key to Springfield has always been Elm Street. The Greeks knew it. The Carthaginians knew it. Now you know it.”

WWII conference room decoration suggestions
I am going to decorate my conference room with a WWII theme. I have a couple of recruiting/propaganda posters and am thinking of putting a big map of the war or a number of individual maps of various theaters basically in their respective areas on a wall. Any suggestions or recommendations on what to buy and where to buy it?

Site Rules
Greeting vDippers.
It has come to my attention that quite a few players are unaware of the site rules. If you're a new player, or a vet and you haven't read over the site rules I'd urge you to do so. http://vdiplomacy.net/rules.php#Rules

Question Regarding CDs
I've noticed that when I click the profiles of people who CD in games, it sometimes still shows 0 CDs on their record. Any reason for it not showing up? Seems to semi-absolve people of CDs?

New Thread Idea
Does anyone know Polish History? Did The Deluge cause such material damage that it doomed Poland to economic and political death spiral, did it devastate the proto-bourgeois, densely populated Northwest at a key moment within a republic when it was fighting with the rural, agrarian South and East thus stunting an incipient movement towards urbanization and development or did it not really have any long term effect?

Scramble for Africa Variant - Gauging Interest
I was wondering how interested people would be in a Scramble for Africa variant. I'm already making one for my friends and me to use, so I could easily put it on the lab for testing once it's done.

Nice one Mitomon. By saying that, you are implying that you are not intelligent and I am. So since I am the supreme ruler of intelligence, I command that everyone be intelligent. YAAAAAAYYYYYYY! Now we are all the smarterest pepes evs.

Hello fellow HQDominators. We should join together and rule the galaxy.
no that would be against the rules!
Mitomon, you also spelled "anywhere" wrong. This proves that I am the smartest person ever. I know this because my gramma told me so.
Wow, this basically the most popular thread ever because vallk is here.

There are twice as many people in the world than there are nipples
Your math is off TBHQD. Some people may have had mastectomies and have one or even no nipples while others, like Scaramanga, have a superfluous third nipple. Then there are the animals many of whom have 6, 8, or 10 nipples. And artificial nipples found on baby bottles and grease nipples on cars.

There are more airplanes under the ocean surface than submarines in the sky.

And some, I assume, have good nipples.
But what if all the submarines (which are naturally airtight) were converted into space craft when the Gamilon's attack and they all head off to fight the Gamilon's while the Yamato heads off to Iscandar?

Hello my children
Hello father.
Or should I say mother. The world may never know.
I grew up watching Star Blazers. It was probably the first anime to come to kids TV out of Japan with real adult themes and an overarching storyline. It didn't "talk down" to kids but expected them to use their brains. I was 13 in 1979 when it came out. Between it and Doctor Who on PBS, I had hope for TV after all. Cause Dukes of Hazard and Love Boat weren't cutting it.
my goodness my father or mother is here
Everybody go to the problems thread. We can fix each others problems.

Star Blazers was one of my favorite shows as a kid. My dad rented the DVDs from Neflix since he liked it so much and we would watch a season every few weeks until the stockpile ran out. I think I was 6-8 somewhere around there in the early '00s so I was too young to remember most of it, but it was fairly lit for back then
YCHTT - I loved Star Blazers as a kid too. That wave motion gun kicked ass! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kj4PSlqt4BQ
Star Blazers is the best TV show ever. I was 10 when it came out. I watched that show for half of my life.
I've never heard of star blazers can someone please explain?
Everyone here is like, in there 40's it seems. The elderly rule.
HQDeevejot (878 D)

The last time I saw star blazers was back in 1980 when I was 26 years old.
Vallk, how old are you? I feel like you are a teenager, but everyone else here is in their 40's. Sorry if I sound a little creepy.

Working on the Calhamer Prototype variant and interested in getting opinions on map design to keep it authenticate. In some cases the maps aren't clear and I'm interested in advice. Where's the best spot folks have found for posting?
