Your RR is 68...no offense, but that's the system doing it's job. Establish a better rating and you'll be able to join such games.

I know I know, after I signed up, I missed a few phases and CDed once, but i'm building it up. Anyway, pretty reliable now, and have always been on webdip.
I was just pointing it out as the previous game that couldn't start was unrated... could be good to have made it the same. Considering not enough players joined the first one, limiting the entrance might not be the best way to fill another one..

Not with the cubing of the average. I'm an RR of 88 with one CD and one missed phase.

And both of those are really old.

What's killing brail is the single CD. One CD in 5 games means an 80%. Eve if his NMRs was perfect, he would be at an RR of 73.

It's unfortunate if someone who is ultimately reliable is unable to join some games while he proves that over time, but this is the cost - worth paying, I believe - to maximize collective reliability in a game that people will be giving a year or so of their time to. It usually takes an extension or two or the joining phase for a WWIV game to get off the ground. Maybe this will not fill up and the standards will need to be relaxed, but I for one am willing to be patient and wait a few weeks if it means the game that starts will have a higher probability of commitment.

Braillard, I sincerely hope your rating rises quickly and you prove to be a solid and reliable member of the site.

Even with a game thathad no RR restiction we couldnt getenoug people in ten days. I remain partly sceptical about the odds of this new game getting enough players

I am not contesting the RR rating and actually think it's good tool, but as Draugnar pointed out it does get very low very quick when you only have a few finished games and one CD.. Maybe it could take into account the age of the games or the improvement curve?

Also the main problem is they aren't that many games on this server and I have been taking over every CD I could just to be able to start an unrated game.... The combination of RR and limitation on number of games really makes it hard for someone that first screwed up and then learned the way the site works to then stick around and find nice games! I've played with GOD and you, Dr recommended, on the sound of silent game, and I loved it, and it wouldn't have been possible if it was RR rated.
I guess just creating games unrated even though you are a good player could be a way to lossen the constraints on players like me.

Missing 1 out of every 9 phases, congrats Steephie, that's quite an accomplishment. It probably surprises you then that many of the most dedicated players on here have work, full time school, are married and/or have kids, do family things, vacation, and have other hobbies, but still somehow manage to not miss turns and ruin games. Perhaps a better sentence would have been: "Proud to not give a f*ck".
