Anon full press game. I think I know who another player is. Is it cheating to attack a third player with the trust I have in this person based on their moves in the current game and past reputation?

Existential question from GOD?...
So as a bit of joke, GOD asked in an unrelated thread "What is love?" It was meant to illicit a response allusive of a music lyric. I throw out the actual question with my added subtext of how do we label our personal experiences with collective titles. Am I the only person who questions whether the "emotions" or "feelings" I attaches basic collectively defined nouns to even resemble what the words "mean" to the collective humanity? So "What is love?" but also "What is human?"

This thread is for people to confess sins safely and anonymously.

My confession is that I usually pee in the pool. Saves time, and who wants to get out to pee? The pool deck is cold.

Classic Chaos?
I'm trying to start a game of Classic Chaos and have posted already on a new games thread, but I felt that to ever hope of reaching enough players, it needs more publicity. I had some people sign up but they've now left so if there aren't any takers this time, I'll take the hint and give up but please if anyone's interested, I really love to give this variant a try, it looks like such fun.

Games like vDiplomacy, but also TripleA?
I'm looking for a game that has vDiplomacy's simultaneous turns, asynchronous multiplayer, and ideally a light or in-browser UI, BUT also has a much more complex game system (not to say that Diplomacy is bad because it is simple, but rather that I'd like an alternative).

BENCHMARK GB TOURNAMENT
Hi all, I’d like to check if there's some interest for this 20-players Tournament idea.
In case we got a few people less or many people more, I could change within a few days the structure to adapt it to the new number, but the ideal number would be 20. More to follow.

Also regarding the final game, I was hovering over the draw button while Greece had his vote up. Greece must have assumed that if the game ended then, he would win the tournament, not knowing that I was at the helm of Carthage. But Persia clearly didn't want to draw and give himself zero chance of winning. Either way, if Persia did continue to cooperate with Greece and put his own draw vote up, I would have put my vote up immediately to end it and eek out the win over Greece with my carry-over advantage compared to Greece's BP advantage over Carthage.

Guaroz, congratulations to the incredibly good organisation. I've never seen something like this before in the web! That was outstanding!

y2kjbk, congrats! You truly deserve the win. Constant awesome playing.

It is as you say. I assumed carthage would not be you :) I asumed you were rome, as it seemed that rome showed a lot of disappointment. The chance for you beeing carthage was small :).

------
In the moment i pulled up the draw i've seen myself in a winning position but on same time with the eastern frontline undefended and open for a stab and terribly vulnerable. In the west i've seen a sort of stalemate so i hoped that persia would draw with me.

He must have seen that whatever wicked move he did on one of us, would decide the game for the gain of the other. In my point of view in that very moment he had to pick the winner.

When he didn't seem to accept I was sure he would stab. The season he stabbed me you can see me moving towards him already as i anticipated it.

I also even pulled my units off carthages frontline a little to signal that i would primarly focus on defending against persia. If he wouldn't stop immedialty carthage will run for solo while persia very likely wouldn't benefit by the stab. Obviously he didn't wanted to stop so i just tried to preserve my second place.

I realised in the end i made a couple of stupid mistakes, that didn't really change anything for me luckily. Some related to beeing anry on persia some beeing on the road. But it was interesting to see how much my anger influenced my concentration.

In regards on sevyas. In a normal game i would assume he would have drawn, but in the rules of the tournament he did the best he could to get into another final position in the tournament. There were a lot of TPs for him easily in reach in my lands.

Thank you Guaroz for organizing this tournament. It was a lot of fun playing and I learned a lot about gunboat games that will hopefully help me to improove my playing.
Congratz to Y2kjbk for winning the tournament, and to Didigoose for the 2nd place.
Being abroad for several more days, and on my mobile phone, I ll keep my comments on the last game short.
Last game: I was quite happy how things were going until spring4. I hoped for Rome helping me to eliminate Greece, but he chose to send an army against me and offer peace to Greece while I completely guessed wrong on Greeces probable moves that turn. Some more wrong guessing got me down to 5 SCs at the end of 05.
Shortly after that, a more or less solid defensive line of Egyptian and Greek units formed against Carthago, and I had the choice between waiting and hoping for a 4way draw (where I would have ended 3rd or 4th place), or eliminating Egypt and using those builds to grasp some more SCs from Greece who by then did not have a lot of defense on our common border.
In a normal game, I would have drawn in 09, but here, knowing that victory was out of reach, I also knew that, except if y2kjbk was Greece, I had a realistic shot at getting the second place by stealing some of his SCs before Carthago would win the game ... so I tried ... and missed to reach that goal by 1 SC.

"He must have seen that whatever wicked move he did on one of us, would decide the game for the gain of the other. In my point of view in that very moment he had to pick the winner. "
Not exactly ... I saw I was not in position to take more SCs from Carthago, and I saw your neglected eastern front. And then I had to choose between accepting a 3rd place without fighting for more, or reaching for the second place where in worst case I would fail and end on 3rd place ...
from my point of view I had nothing to lose - sorry for making you angry ;-)

Congratulations to the winner, I’ve been following the final round, a well deserved victory!

Guaroz, your dedication to the website is admirable, as well as your organization of Tournaments. You ought be taken as example in setting up and in managing special games/Tournaments.

Despite you’ve been a tireless ball breaker sometimes… I will miss you buddy.

Nothing personal Sevyas :) but you surely understand my disappointment. When you feel you could be the winner out of 20 participants that means sth :)
I totally agree, from your point of view this was the best option to gain more. It took me a while to see this unemotional :)

Congratulations, y2kjbk! A well deserved victory. Also let me add my thanks to Guaroz for running a great tournament - definitely the most organized and smoothest running one I've played here or Webdip.
