How long does this game last? I might be interested in joining the next one.

Not terribly long, It is usually done in give or take ten game years
But at one season a week it will take give or take 20 weeks.
But then again, for MOST of the players, they will be eliminated well before that time!

If you want to PM me your email address I can add you to the list of people I will contact for future games. As Tomahaha says, it usually lasts around 10 game years or so. I would expect this game to go into July at the very least. I would like to make this an annual game, but most people need a breather afterwards. It can be fairly intensive, even with one-week phases.

Ten years is an early finish for NWO, and this one begins the end game voting process later than the last few games played. The GM might well wish it ends sooner rather than later, but the game typically takes longer to play out even with early voting . Plan on 11 or 12 years with 2 roughly game years per month. As we are 1.5 years into the game now this particular game could easily go into August. The game has a typical attrition rate of around 50% of starting players with the variance really depending on how the global conflicts unfold.

watching from afar, this game seems to have jumped into the nuclear mayhem earlier than most others, it can be crazy and even a bit stupid fun to follow, gotta suspend reality for a bit and just enjoy the pretty colors! (it CAN be fun)

I never said it wasn't fun, it's a crazy and stupid fun, nukes flying as they do really IS "stupid" (the world would end the way they end up flying). I'm talking how it does not reflect real life, heck, the comment is not intended to take anything away from the game (I developed the game and I'm not taking anything away from my design), it's ALWAYS been "stupid fun" (key word fun). Count up how many nukes fly at the end of the game, I have seen several dozen, maybe 30+? in games. Crazy for sure, stupid also fits quite well!

Thanks for showing up to tell us how you developed the game (again). That was the stupid and crazy part. Now that you are gone we're all having fun.

Winter 2019 has passed with 24 fresh nukes coming onto the board. One more game year and the voting phase begins. It will be quite interesting to see the coalitions that come out of this game.
