14 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1903: My silly convoy move. I've played a fair bit of Dip, but got a basic move wrong. I see you've played a vast amount more than me on this site, so I have my work cut out for me. :-) |
14 Dec 15 UTC | Spring, 1903: Just seen. |
15 Dec 15 UTC | Thanks for the game. |
15 Dec 15 UTC | Hmm... well thats a surprise. I thought we were finally just beginning to shape up for the real game. I lost a couple of units because they were operating way ahead of the rest but I thought this would tie you up while I got fleets into the med, and armies across to the middle of Europe. Nice move to Norway, but that unit dies next turn, and I keep St Pete etc. Nice work in Vienna but most of your armies are clustered behind and I have enough to hold the line in Munich, Berlin etc. I still have SC's available to take in Brest and Portugal, so I don't think the real contest has been settled, but I guess I didn't read the victory conditions properly, so congrats and thank you. |
15 Dec 15 UTC | The irony is, you are totally correct! Good game. I would love to do that again, or another map? |
15 Dec 15 UTC | Ok, so I didn't watch the count of SC's close enough... the game is about positioning earlier than I thought - rather I was preparing for a showdown that never really came along. I also made 2 mistakes earlier, both resulting in getting armies across one turn later than I planned. Something to learn from. I've just started a Fr v Aust game, and I'll play that through a little also before returning to this variant. Thanks and see you soon. |
15 Dec 15 UTC | Any time. Thank you again. |
