22 Jun 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: What up!!? |
22 Jun 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: France is strong! Alright, this is the Spring turn. General strategy is maneuver in spring, capture in autumn. Not a hard and fast rule, if you can capture in the Spring just be sure you can hold it through the fall. |
22 Jun 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: All orders are simultaneously enacted. The drop down boxes below the map are your orders. Hold, Support Hold, Move, Support Move, and Convoy. Hold is not moving / defense, support hold can be used to support an adjacent unit that is holding. Move is like attacking, support move keeps the unit stationary but lends its strength to the moving unit. A support move must be issued by a unit that is adjacent to the target zone. So you could move from Paris to Burgundy and support that move with the unit in Marseilles. |
22 Jun 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: Input your orders, then hit Ready. The difference between save and ready is that the turn will advance immediately if we all hit ready. Hitting save is preferable in the large games so that the turn ends at the same time every day. |

22 Jun 16 UTC | Spring, 1901: I think I did a thing |
23 Jun 16 UTC | Spring, 1902: Two units attempting to move to the same place, or one unit trying to move into an occupied territory, results in a 'bounce.' Nobody moves in a bounce, so it can be a defensive tactic. Support moves are the way around it. This time, move the army into Belgium, the one in Marseilles to Burgundy. I'll move to Ruhr and you can practice forcing me out with a supported move next turn. |
27 Jun 16 UTC | Autumn, 1903: Only one unit can move there. The other would have to be given a support move order. |
29 Jun 16 UTC | Spring, 1904: How's this, try to convoy from Picardy to London. You'll have to tell the army to move to London via convoy and the fleet will have to be given a convoy order to the same effect... convoying from Picardy to Belgium. I'll move to Burgundy. You can either kick me out of it next turn with your two armies (one supporting the other) or you can move to Burgundy now with a support move. If you opt for the latter, I won't move as your order will have the strength of two units against my one. |
30 Jun 16 UTC | Autumn, 1904: That's how you convoy and how you support. Using a support hold is pretty much the same thing, except it's purely defensive and utilizes holds instead of moves. The only other concept left is 'cutting' support orders. If you move against an enemy unit that has a support move/hold order, you will cut the support and disrupt the order. This does not work if the unit is supporting a move against the unit you've used to cut. For example, had I my unit in Ruhr moved against Marseilles, I would not have cut the support since the order was directed against the unit I moved. |
02 Jul 16 UTC | GameMaster: Austria voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
