13 Apr 17 UTC so close...
13 Apr 17 UTC Good game. I tried to throw it England's way when Byzantine wouldn't let me be in the draw. Just missed!
13 Apr 17 UTC I couldn't make enough progress against Byzantine Empire in time for England turning up. Well played tutto.
13 Apr 17 UTC i attacked you exactly because you made too much progress for my tastes, and because i needed byzantium alive against almo. though im surpised almo didnt stab first.
13 Apr 17 UTC I was thinking about it heavily. Was so close to doing it. Calculated my chances of getting 27 SCs to be virtually 0 though given we were stalemates in Iberia.

When he stabbed me then, I knew if I wanted anything but 26-26, I had to almost throw the game to England in order to get him to back off. Glad it worked.
13 Apr 17 UTC but you seemed to have contintued against BYZ, even after he has given up on his ambitions and repushed the draw button. should i have waited another year before attacking you to make sure your stuff is further away or were you about to redirect stuff into iberia anyway?
13 Apr 17 UTC maybe i should have left a marauding fleet in the MED when i gave up on the southern territories, but i was not sure i would be able to stabilize the north without the additional build. It was clear to me from the start that almo would probably be the most annoying nation to me, and i was proven right. even though i offered you peace, you kept pestering me :D
13 Apr 17 UTC Well part of that is just that I haven't played gunboat in like 4-5 years, so I totally just missed your clues! A bit rusty here!

As far as BYZ: he put the draw up once and stabbed me, so I wanted to make sure he was backing off. Waiting a year wouldn't have helped though. I had my defensive position picked out for both of you, and I was going to sit tight. I knew your stab was coming eventually, given you were stalemates in the east for the most part. Your only hope at a solo was going through me and me not putting up the right defense. You amde the right call to try when you did. If anything, I would have gotten stronger as I had a better position against BYZ, and been able to send units west that weren't needed anymore.
13 Apr 17 UTC or i might have attacked you earlier, when you had removed stuff from iberia but not all, which would have allowerd byzantium to push further - possibly to a point where stalemating me would not have been easy in a gunboat game, when the area around the thyrrenian is a meshup of green and orange.
