13 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: (Enriador): This game will end after Fall 1806. The winner will be the country with most supply centers. Points will be divided according to the number of SCs held. |
14 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: (Argentinean Empire): This is a nice map. Good job, Enriador! |
14 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: (Enriador): Thank you - I hope you will enjoy it! |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: Someone put a British fleet in Cen! There is a red island there! |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: It's Malta! There is also a British holding in one of the Balearic Islands. Not to mention the Russian Ionian Islands off the Greek coast. =D |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: Wait. . . Does Russia have those Greek islands today? |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: No, today they are Greek. But in 1800 they were under joint Russian-Turkish administration as the "Septinsular Republic". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Septinsular_Republic |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: Fun |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: Uhh. . . Everyone has saved orders and 0 have finalized. It’s a really funny line of gray check marks. |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: I am waiting a key reply from the Spanish and Danish kings. After that I will ready! |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: also glad we won't see a NMR in the very first season! =) |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: True. Games with active players are awesome. |
15 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: I would have readied up right away, but didn’t want people to think I was not available for discussion |
16 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: In my experience if people want to talk, they will send you a message regardless of whether you are ready or not, |
16 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: disagree Britain. if I am negotiating with a power over a province and they click Ready I consider the negotiation closed. |
16 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: I suppose we just play the game differently. I often engage in a negotiation that lasts most of the phase length, such as currently waiting for a response from the Spanish king. |
16 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: It always turns me off when a power immediately readies before talking to anyone, but maybe that’s personal preference. Doesn’t make me not send them a message, but it makes me think they’re less open-minded to proposals |
16 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: Oh, the king of Sicily & Naples took the words from my mouth. A player who readies (before talking to at least the guys his moves will influence the most) has announced that 1) they are sure of their moves to the point of where the season could be ended already and 2) that they do not deem another player's insight and wishes as ultimately meaningful. I respect those who are quite self-confident about their strategical expertise, but it's a thin line to walk between confidance and what may be interpreted as carefree arrogance. |
16 May 18 UTC | Spring, 1800: True. |
17 May 18 UTC | Autumn, 1800: "Each minor power has a designated neutral supply center that will become a third home center upon being captured by that minor power. The additional home centers respective to each minor country are as follows: Portugal (Spain), Sweden (Denmark), Egypt (Ottoman Empire), Papal States (Sicily)." |
