15 Aug 18 UTC | Spring, 1860: Info: This is a choose your country game. |
18 Aug 18 UTC | Autumn, 1861: ouch, the missed bounce in WDC hurts. |
18 Aug 18 UTC | Autumn, 1861: Yeah, I'm starting to think that pushing the fleet up the coast firsg year is very much a dominant strategy over going for the third build. Getting into home centres is just too crippling. |
18 Aug 18 UTC | Spring, 1862: Yeah I've almost always used that strategy and tried for something different this time around and it flopped. The most brutal aspect is once you get in, to get kicked out requires occupation which is an additional year of not building there. Plus if there is continual pressure, it takes some solid strategic maneuvering to free up the center for a build. My least favorite aspect of this map is that the scales tilt pretty quickly and there's never a rush for a stalemate or really that much map coverage. |
18 Aug 18 UTC | Autumn, 1862: I've had some good longer games on this map. The challenge of ensuring builds each as the front gradually extends its way across the map can be quite fun. |
28 Aug 18 UTC | Spring, 1865: Well done in the other game, definitely destroyed me. This one is likely headed that way with your northern units, but I'll ride it out a bit. |
29 Aug 18 UTC | Autumn, 1865: Thanks - I was thinking this one was still quite tough 'cause you're pressing on my build sites quite heavily, but I suppose that's one of the things I like about it; both sets of home territories are close enough that both sides feel constantly hemmed in :) |
31 Aug 18 UTC | Autumn, 1866: ...ouch |
03 Sep 18 UTC | GameMaster: Union voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes Concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Conceede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat. |
03 Sep 18 UTC | You've had me for some time, well done. no chance to break through! Good set of games :) |
04 Sep 18 UTC | Good games; I'll be looking forward to the rematch ;) |
