09 Apr 19 UTC | Congrats, Hector. |
09 Apr 19 UTC | Thanks. The endgame took a bit longer than I was expecting! Also, props to Persia, for still playing the game even though they were stalemated for most of it. |
09 Apr 19 UTC | Sorry Persia, i saw that I had found a chokepoint and just thought to hold it for as long as possible. I probably was the one most reps for Macedonia winning. |
09 Apr 19 UTC | Am happy with the result. I have conquered most of Asia Minor except for a couple of Greek enclaves. My lack of naval power let me down. Congratulations Hector on winning. You are named after a famous Greek/Macedonian hero? or just co-incidence. |
09 Apr 19 UTC | Odd game. I was aware as soon as Macedonia build a fleet it was an instant signal of attack but was good as a warning sign. What I didn’t expect was Rhodes to continue attacking at any cost when it seemed very clear that doing so would lead to a Macedonia win. I fully expected relief in the south as soon as it was clear Macedonia was going for it all. Presumably it wasn’t as clear as I thought since the attack just continued even when I was throwing SCs to Macedonia hoping to finally make the point. Oh well. Well played Hector. Well executed turn around on me |
09 Apr 19 UTC | I thought that I can get some gain from your SCs to break through the middle board while containing the Western side. However, I mistook the timing and the middle collapse faster with Byzantium solo fleet taking opportunity to breakthrough some of my SCs. |
09 Apr 19 UTC | Yeah, Sparta wanted to play nice with me at the start, which gave me the opening to exploit him mercilessly once I got established :D. I was hoping Byzantium would grab more of your islands, he passed up a couple of opportunities to at least try. |
