16 Jul 19 UTC | Autumn, 1860: I love the Cape May opening for Confederacy. I considered doing it in the other game, but not really knowing your play, went for my idea of most conservative openings in both games. The extra fun part of this variant is the strong need to balance material growth and to keep pressure on the border. There are openings for both sides that give an early preference to border pressure. One common one is Tenn - Ken a second time in the fall. Cape May is another one. The Union has Cape May - East Coast in the fall (which I dislike) and a tricky move (that doesn't work with my builds) that nearly always results in the Union taking Richmond in the first year while Con ends up in Washington DC. This turns out to play better for Union than for Con. Instead I went for a secure material buildup in the first year in both games. I'm glad you did the more challenging thing in one of them. It'll be fun to play out. |

22 Jul 19 UTC | Yeah. Nowhere I can break through, and you can hold the line and build. Nice game. |
22 Jul 19 UTC | GameMaster: Union voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Concede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat. |
22 Jul 19 UTC | Yes GG. I have not played this variant in ages, forgot how fun it is! |
