30 May 20 UTC | Autumn, 1704: GameMaster: Someone has taken over Kintyre replacing "H-BOT". Reconsider your alliances. |
01 Jun 20 UTC | Spring, 1705: GameMaster: Kintyre voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has. |
16 Jun 20 UTC | Spring, 1708: GameMaster: Dundee voted for a Concede. If everyone (but one) votes concede the game will end and the player _not_ voting Concede will get all the points. Everybody else will get a defeat. |
16 Jun 20 UTC | Spring, 1708: GameMaster: Orkney Islands voted for a Cancel. If everyone votes Cancel all points will be refunded and the game will be deleted from the database. |
02 Jul 20 UTC | Congrats to ingebot! |
02 Jul 20 UTC | I think we tried to stop you but it was hard to coodrinate, maybe because this is such anew and untried variant. I was hoping Glasgow would let me take Arr or Kill one of my fleets when I went to Ayr to enable me to build one more army to use. |
02 Jul 20 UTC | Yeah you definitely needed armies instead of fleets in the end. Also it seemed like Glasgow and kintyre just consistently tried of fuck your shit up towards the end (although you did also try to attack Arr near the end which contributed to distrust). My vote for concede was genuine, when I voted it seemed I did not have enough units to follow up on the initial attack of Edinburgh, did not have enough units to defend the rattray coast chokepoint, and did not have enough units to hold Ben Nevis. Just by giving up Ben Nevis, plus the extremely conservative play of Edinburgh (never attempting to really counterattack, and didn't stab me before when I was engaged North either) helped me stabilize the fronts and push forwards again. It was a really fun game! Although this does show that there are serious issues with fleets in this variant. |
02 Jul 20 UTC | When I voted concede, I hoped you would take it as signal to narrow the draw |
02 Jul 20 UTC | Well, tbh, I think Hebrides is a shitty power to play. If you dont build fleets early your dead, and when you need armies you dont have any builds to use. I tried to take Arr to build an army, I thought Glasgow would understand that. Like I never took back Ullapool from Orkney because he needed all units. |
02 Jul 20 UTC | goodgame |

02 Jul 20 UTC | good times, I could not make any headway ... I def noticed the concede vote and was hoping others did as well, but we could not put it together |
02 Jul 20 UTC | and nice win, ingebot! |
