15 Oct 21 UTC | [India]:GG, Taking over India midgame obviously was a very lucky break for me, so firstly my apologies for that. Very well done everyone to halt me getting an effective solo attempt underway. Wagadu - you and Arabia were tremendous in holding me back, apologies for taking Yemen but I was really just trying to go for Socotra during that time for a 3-way draw. Denmark - it looked a bit uncertain at points for both of us in trying to break the others' lines, really well defended as you were conquering southwards. I was very concerned about a successful solo attempt. Thanks All |
15 Oct 21 UTC | [Arabia]:Yeah I had a solid stalemate against India, but Wagadu really kinda screwed me by insisting on taking down the Byzantines, despite the risks of Denmark running away with the game. I tried backing up to a different line to send a message to him and deny a few more centers to the Danes, but then Wagadu didn't do the moves necessary to help me keep that line and the collapse continued. The East as a whole just fell apart way, way too quickly for my liking and kinda messed up an otherwise solid game for me. |
15 Oct 21 UTC | [India]:It was very unlucky imo for you Arabia - I think we were close at one point to a much wider draw, but after France and then Khazaria were beaten it was more and more likely that Arabia and Byzantium would follow. |
15 Oct 21 UTC | [Arabia]:Yeah, I frankly didn't expect Denmark to advance so much in Europe. We were close to the big draw, which is why I kept denying Wagadu's encroachments ongo Byzantium as much as possible |
15 Oct 21 UTC | [Denmark]:Very hard and very well played by all. If there are no resounding mistakes of several players it is practically impossible to win alone. I got lucky at first but then it was a hard, stubborn and slow conquest movement. I made the decisive mistake of letting Wagadu take Sicily, so my only hope of victory was that India would attack Wagadu in the hope of winning alone. I would have accepted this challenge with him (it is not often the case, in this version, that Denmark or India arrive so close to a victory) but when I saw that he did not intend to try his luck, there was no alternative to an honourable draw. Congratulations to everyone for the very nice game, thank you. |
