16 Aug 21 UTC | Good game. I was really never able to achieve any objectives, and was just happy to survive. I was surprised to see many powers who could have attempted to stop Japan via Box A, B, C choose to attack me instead. |
16 Aug 21 UTC | Well originally, I thought the problem was Italy, India, and sort of, you. Japan’s sudden rise was when I was weakest. |
16 Aug 21 UTC | Yeah, there was a chance that I was the big problem, but the second Austria made the choice to stab me, I stopped attacking you. I was also surprised Austria attacked me when an Austrian/German war always means both lose. Happened here, too. I would have preferred they go east. |
16 Aug 21 UTC | GG! I think the boxes are unfortunately rather useless for any cross map interference. It is extremely easy to stop someone from exiting the box as Britain and I demonstrated at the end. |
16 Aug 21 UTC | Also, sorry I had to turn on you Russia. I had planned to keep the peace with you to the end but when Austria stabbed Germany I felt I had to rush to beat them to a possible solo as quick as I could. |
16 Aug 21 UTC | Maybe if the boxes were connected directly to the other side, then they would see more use |

17 Aug 21 UTC | GG, that was a rough game for me. I was fighting or fought by all neighbours, Japan I did think you'd attack but honestly I had hoped to be able to have had more builds to slow or stop an attack. I certainly don't blame you and I hadn't realised until late that the win threshold was so low. Sorry everyone else, but to be fair everyone was still attacking everyone else and no coalition against Japan. |
17 Aug 21 UTC | Yes wraparound map would make it easier to break through, although I imagine it might be easier to run away with games that way |
17 Aug 21 UTC | GG everyone. Yeah this map isn't quite the best. The fact Japan got all the centers needed for a win and is barely in contact with the next 3 largest players. There wasn't much we could do to stop him. |
17 Aug 21 UTC | GG everyone. Good job Japan for staying under my radar until the very end, totally didn't expect your huge jump in centers which completely caught me off guard. |
17 Aug 21 UTC | Yeah, good point, maybe the issue is with the map. |
17 Aug 21 UTC | Yeah. Japan and India run away with roughly a 1/3 of the solos. And the amount of solos is inflated anyway since it’s 1/3 of the SC are needed. India has a large amounts of neutrals around them with enemies all 3 moves away. Japan is defended AF. French and British colonies are supposed to add to Japan’s neighbors, but they end up eating it, so Japan and India can remain strong. |
