12 Oct 21 UTC Well played France. Thought we might just stall you but I assume italy had no visibility how advanced you were. And probably couldn’t have done anything anyway
12 Oct 21 UTC Thanks Russia and good game everyone. I took over in Autumn 1901 and my predecessor had a good opening position of the English Channel and Burgundy. Given that this is gunboat and Germany and England couldn’t communicate much at that point it allowed me to grab Belgium easily.

I sent an a fleet to explore the Western Med. when I had 10 centers to see if I could sneak one off Italy but they came west with a formidable force. If you had pressed your attack, Italy, I think you would have been victorious over me. But I don’t know what the situation was with Turkey at that point.

Once Germany was down to 1-2 centers I set up for a three pronged push east. I knew St. Pete couldn’t be held by Russia long-term but I wasn’t sure where my final center would come from. I felt that I didn’t have enough armies for the land push at first. Italy put up another excellent defense in the Med but I wasn’t sure of their center count, I was thinking 8 at least. I was hoping that if Turkey could pull a center away I could break through. I see know that wouldn’t have happened.

I was gearing up for a transport from Spain to Piedmont that I think would have been successful and would have changed the line a bit. No guarantee of taking a center though.

I almost didn’t try for Warsaw there, figuring that Moscow would hold it despite me cutting support from Galicia. Then I figured it was worth the shot and I could still position myself around Warsaw the following year if my attack failed.

Good game once again everyone!
