14 Aug 21 UTC Spring, 901: In my opinion the map makes a dip game balanced or not. Mainly, how many easy centers a country has. Easy meaning how many can they grab in the first year without being contested for them. However, the great equalizer in all dip games is...you guessed it...diplomacy.
14 Aug 21 UTC Spring, 901: The problem is that no map is truly balanced unless it is perfectly symmetrical, but doing so, makes the game loose all its diplomacy, because every one has the same strenght and weakness, making relationships totally casual and unpredictable

14 Aug 21 UTC Spring, 901: Perfectly balanced and perfectly symmetrical are not the same thing. The key is every power having different strengths and weaknesses, but comparable. There are maps out there where some powers have more weaknesses than others, and that's just stupid
