09 Jan 22 UTC | ggs! |
09 Jan 22 UTC | gg! Made the right call not stabbing Russia there. Sorry Italy, I wanted those extra eight points and I'm sure Japan/Russia wanted them too |
09 Jan 22 UTC | Also @France I really wasn't expecting Picardy to succeed--it was just made as a defensive move (as can be seen from Mun S Swi). But I saw the open Center, and greed overtook me... |
09 Jan 22 UTC | The settings really heavily encouraged a 3-way draw. I ended up with no reason for me to not stab Russia b/c we were the only 2 left in the East and I'm clearly not winning a horse-race for a solo at -8. Since it's impossible to duo, all I had left to do was outlive India, don't let Russia solo off me, & block the boxes. |
09 Jan 22 UTC | Germany I was so spooked when you moved on me for a turn, so glad you decided against it. Honestly didn't have a plan for solo, especially after Japan attacked me (back before I had much at all in the middle east so not close enough to solo to start thinking about it). It was good working with you. I was saddened that you attacked me Japan after how peaceful we had been, but I understand, I had been hoping you would go after India and/or use the Boxes to go after Africa. But at least in the end India went down and we could draw. GG |
09 Jan 22 UTC | ngl St. Petersburg was really funny to watch as well lol |
09 Jan 22 UTC | Russia--sorry about that, I was afraid you were going to go for a solo. Then I saw that Japan was the real threat, so I turned around and prayed things would work out :^) |
09 Jan 22 UTC | Haha yes, StP was very funny. Great way to keep a conflict localized... |
09 Jan 22 UTC | Also, gotta say, whenever I play on maps that are not build anywhere I am reminded why I don't like non build anywhere maps. Since I had the Middle East for a bit but just couldn't produce ships there and I didn't have a path through Egypt yet. Made it really annoying when I just had no way to defend my Persian or Indian holdings. |
09 Jan 22 UTC | Yeah, a big part of why I think Japan/Russia is so good for Japan is that all I really have to do is take or contain Vladivostok and you basically can never build fleets again to contest the oceans. |
09 Jan 22 UTC | GG all |
09 Jan 22 UTC | Congrats to Sakhalin for remaining Russian :P |
09 Jan 22 UTC | And Somaliland for remaining Italian |
09 Jan 22 UTC | Mali for remaining neutral |
