21 Feb 22 UTC | Autumn, 1905: I think I need a miracle already. But a fun game! |
21 Feb 22 UTC | Spring, 1906: I can see you've been learning, and also, you anticipated the moves you know I favour. So I moved differently again... lol, to stay ahead of what you expect me to do :-) |
21 Feb 22 UTC | Autumn, 1906: I’m an idiot convinced it was autumn |
21 Feb 22 UTC | Thanks for that...let me know if you want an opinion. |
23 Feb 22 UTC | Ok, fair enough. |

23 Feb 22 UTC | The reason I keep winning is you rush to grab centres I can take from you. In doing that I gain the centre while depriving you of one centre... that's a gain of 2 for me. In this game, how many centres do you control that I once did? only Warsaw which I had previously taken from you. I can see that you wanted to find a way to collect back centres better than in past games, but you left your centre too weak and I was able to push through. You'll never really be able to hold Marseilles or even Iberia from Italy and by spending resources taking them, only to lose them, means you haven't spent resources taking centres that you can hold. In this map, I think Vienna is most critical. Whomever holds Vienna holds initiative, much like the centres 4 squares of the chessboard. If Munich falls, Germany loses. If Venice falls, Italy loses. |
