11 May 22 UTC 7 October 1571, the start of the battle: ... and I've never played this once before, ever. So it should be fun.
11 May 22 UTC 7 October 1571, the start of the battle: These rules are not very clear at all...
11 May 22 UTC 7 October 1571, the start of the battle: The double hexagons are SCs. There are three types of ships.

Flagships are permanently stationary at spaces L3 and L5. They have an action (can support hold or support move) but cannot move. If just one of them is ever dislodged, you lose. You don't have to dislodge both of your opponent's flagships to win; just dislodge one of them.

You start with 4 galleys. These can move to every adjacent hexagon. These are the only ships allowed to capture SCs or support hexagons that are SCs. .

You start with 2 frigates (I2 and I7). These have a range of "2"--e.g. I7 can move to H5. However, frigates cannot ever move into an SC or support a galley's movement into an SC.

You start the game with two frigates. You cannot ever build any more frigates; only galleys. Once you destroy a frigate, you cannot rebuild it.

One final note--in the first turn, you will have to destroy 2 units (even if all your galleys capture SCs). People almost always choose to destroy 2 galleys on the first turn because the frigates can't ever be repopulated.
11 May 22 UTC 7 October 1571, the start of the battle: I’m happy to draw this one and do an unrated practice one of you want
11 May 22 UTC 7 October 1571, half an hour after the start of the battle: Thats a very kind offer, but no, lets play this out and see how it goes. I normally enjoy the advantages with much more experience so we'll see how this goes :-)
11 May 22 UTC 7 October 1571, half an hour after the start of the battle: The supply hexes are, I assume, the double lined ones? Eg... J1, not J2?
11 May 22 UTC 7 October 1571, 1 hour after the start of the battle: Ya the supply hexes are the hexagon within a hexagon
11 May 22 UTC 7 October 1571, 1 hour after the start of the battle: I don't really see the point of the frigates if they can't attack any supply centre... I guess they can only dislodge a unit that is not on a supply centre, so that makes flagships immune to frigates, right?
11 May 22 UTC Your frigates are making a beeline for my backline... I wonder why? They cannot attack flagships or supply centres. I worry that I'm missing something here.
11 May 22 UTC GameMaster: Ottoman Empire voted for a Draw. If everyone votes Draw the game will end and the points are split equally among all the surviving players, regardless of how many supply centers each player has.
11 May 22 UTC Sorry if I misrepresented something here--

The flagships do not sit on a supply center (despite what the confusing map might suggest). Frigates can support and move into the flagships; they cannot support or move into supply centers
11 May 22 UTC Please accept the draw, it is unclear from the map and instructions whether flagships are a supply center
11 May 22 UTC If you want a new game (no pressure to join if not interested), I have a new game with invite code "1234"

11 May 22 UTC Oh... ok... the map does indeed seem to show that the flagships are sitting on a supply centres so I figured that frigates can't touch them
