24 Jun 23 UTC Autumn, 1601: GameMaster: Game was extended due to at least 1 member failing to enter orders and having an excused missed turn available. This has un-readied all orders.

22 Jul 23 UTC Congrats, Coffee! You sure are dominating this new map. How many of the 13 solos are you?

Very interesting that China/Russia have 11 combined solos compared to 1 each from Ottomans/Mughals. Is it just a result of the small sample size so far or is there some asymmetry that I’m not seeing?
22 Jul 23 UTC I think I currently hold 3 or 4?
22 Jul 23 UTC I very much think it's a result of a small sample size. This is, in theory, the most balanced 4-player map out of all of them. The only asymmetry to be found here is in the corners. The fight between the Ottomans and Russians has a different dynamic than Russia and China; the former has bordering centers and the latter fights for neutrals, while the Knight threatens a whole center from the first turn alone. It's the only imbalance in the map, and if there's a certain level of skill gap between the neighbors, that could be the difference. I *think*, with heavy emphasis on the word "think," that if Russia and Mughals have similar skill levels, with either China or the Ottomans being less formidable opponents, there's an advantage to be gained there. I also think it helps to have the best (or second-best) player on the board to be directly across you.
22 Jul 23 UTC but I think if the same 4 players kept playing every 4-player map there is, this variant would end up as the most balanced. It just so happens that I and Finkelmuiyer played every finkelboat of this so far, and every other player keeps changing. If you played more of this, I doubt I'd have this many wins
