I think it came down to two bad decisions from you: Going to Holland instead of Ruhr, which I think is the worse option as you then loose the option to attack Munich with strength 2, and then you had to guess if I would go to Munich with strength 1 or 2 and you choose the wrong option. Cutting Silesia in the attack of Berlin was the last option, but it was again a guess as I could also have attacked Munich with strength 3. I think it all came down to those moves.

I still haven't really figured out this map yet, but Munich and Berlin are very important centers, but if one wastes too many units on them, it's impossible to grow. Quite difficult.

I went to Holland as I was initially going to convoy it to Norway, but changed my mind, which then did miss the opportunity on Munich.

You’re right about both Munich and Berlin as being key, but also the risk of expending too many units attacking/defending them.

Getting a fleet to the Baltic can help to obtain (and keep) Berlin - but I messed that up too.

Yes, that's the difficulty of France. You want fleets in Baltic early but also in the Med to get the stalemate there.
