I'm in. Keep in mind I only play 3 games the most at a time, and often less, depending on my schedule. But I'll definitely look to join some of these games here and there.

Yes, I believe anon helps. I also think random power assignment is usually a good idea too.

I personally do not feel anonymous is necessary since we'd be playing for a win, not for anything like points or HoF. However, if people want it I'm open to it. Generally I like the more open style of non anon though. More like ftf

Looks like a quality group of people already! I'm excited to see where we go with this! Anyone else have preferences about anon? Also, if people are up for it, I might start 2 games, one larger, and one smaller map if we get enough people.

I prefer non-anonymous in games with similar skill levels, especially if we're setting up a regular group to play, for the camaraderie. But anonymous will also do for me.

Just to follow-up, yes I remain interested. Will only be able to commit to one game at a time. If there is enough for a big map, would be interested to try that.

As an aside, if any "competitive" players are looking for competitive GB games I am always available for those. I may post a thread in the future.

I think non-anon is best. I will be able to pick out who players like Leif, bozo and drano are from playing with them enough in the past. I think it evens the playing field with non-anonymous.

I'm interested. Anon is usually a good idea so that we can't research opening patterns of an established account; also a good idea if we want to keep people from ganging up against a player strictly because he has a lot of points or a high rating.

manmountain - How long have you been playing Dip? From your profile, you're quite new, and while it's awesome that you want to play competitively (something I argue for in other threads), we seem to be pulling some of the 'best' players on the site here, so it might not be the game for you as a beginner. If you want to play one though, I'd be happy to join up in a game that you create.

Well it looks like this is about it for sign-ups. Any preferences on maps? We could start right away with an 8-10 player map, or wait for Kaner and Leif and go for a 12 player map.

Let's try for a game of vanilla Classic and see the interest it generates. If we get more than 7 players, then we can step up to a more populated variant

I'd prefer a 10-12 player map, but by all means, go ahead with a smaller map if that's more preferable to everyone and I'll sit this one out.
