Congrats to the top 8 advancing to what will hopefully be a much better and NMR-free round. I will set up games and send out messages next week, most likely. Since B-RICH94 and I tied, I went to # solo tiebreaker, which B-RICH94 wins, 2-1. He will advance, and I will be first replacement for anyone dropping out.

Why have a 19 or 11 when you can have a smooth 5? Jimbozig and El Cremoso know where it is at!

Anyone can get 19... it's more of a challenge to get 8th spot, especially when it requires a tiebreaker :P

A couple of points to clarify first:

Is there any objection to me sending out random placement numbers rather than troubling mods to do it? Since I'm no longer playing there should be no issue, I think.

Back when we voted about rated vs unrated, there was a narrow preference for unrated. I said we'd finish the round as we'd started it, and then make the change. Is this still the collective preference of those advancing in the tournament?

My vote is for unrated games, and I am fine with your random assignments.

Slight advantage for the "Rated" preference. I am creating games today with that setting. I'll establish a lengthy join phase, but please don't take that as an invitation to delay. Please join promptly once I sent out assignments so we can get this next round underway. I'm the only one that gets to drag this out for weeks at a time ;)

Another player has notified me that he is unable to play for at least another week. He was caught in the major blizzard that dumped 6 feet of snow on upstate New York, and service has been mostly unavailable. I'd advise extending the Group Two game through next week, and if necessary at that point we can use a replacement. As in the first round, if people play on instead, that was the precedent set.
