But that changes things Macca. Perhaps one team could focus on helping one of their players solo, instead of controlling the whole map. Theoretically that would be easier, especially with some clever diplomacy on the part of those team members "trying to stop the solo." So maybe that rule should be changed?

My intention was: "No draws allowed until 1 team remains" = eliminate all other teams, OR "or complete stalemates" = there is a complete stalemate on the board between ALL remaining teams. Note that it's not 3 teams teamed up to stalemate a 4th team, because those 3 teams aren't in a stalemate. Hence, no draw allowed. Clever diplomacy would be needed to break the logjam in these situations.

So essentially, it boils down to 1 team has to wipe the board of everyone else.

This will take decades, it will be legendary.

@Macca I don't think it is a good idea to assign names or numbers to teams. It is easier to lie that your team members are 'Portugal, Scotland and Ottomans' than to lie that your team members are 'Portugal, Scotland and Ottomans' and that you form 'team 5' with them.

Looks like fun. I'll join. Would appreciate a full explanation of how everything's gonna work before the game starts though.

There's no intent to have team names/numbers. Whoever does the randomization will simply PM people with this message:

"Your team is A (their power), B, C, and D. Good luck!"

To expand on Macca's list, the general rules are as follows:

- Non-anon, 2-day phases, unrated
- 9 teams of 4 players each
- Teams randomly decided by a third party, will be PMed individually after the game starts
- Game will be paused upon start in order to give the 3rd party time to send all the PMs
- You will be given your team and not the others
- No draws until 1 team controls the map, or there is a complete stalemate between all teams left (note, if 3 teams have 1 player left and are stalemating a team of 2 that's left, this is NOT a stalemate between all teams, as the 3 teams of 1 player could still attack each other. In reality, this complete stalemate between all teams will be nearly impossible to have unless its 2 equal sized teams duking it out.)

One thing to discuss - Can teams take territory from each other. I'm personally all for it, as trading SCs is a valid tactical maneuver, and could enhance Diplomatic aspects of the game as well.

Ahh Drano, I misunderstood. Your ruling I do agree is much better.

I also support 1 excused turn, and I definitely support it being extend always, even if that means no regaining.

Actually thinking about it... I'm probably too busy to keep up with a game of this scale. I might join in if you guys are having trouble getting the last few people. Sorry!
