2 day phases, unranked, Classic.

Its up to you as GM how you'd manage, but I'd suggest something like collating a heap of secret random times on a 24 hour basis. The idea being the preceeding day before you look at who was the closest time to the random time. Then you go back the usual 3 people rule.

You would PM that person and say they have 24 hours to get an order to you for another player. eg France asks for Germany to move Mun to Boh. You then need to PM who receives the order (Germany) and let them know the news. They HAVE to put in that order. The rest of their orders can be normal. It wouldn't prevent Germany spilling the beans to Austria so VIE could bounce BOH.

Unless of course you wanted to make it a little more chaotic and make it gunboat. Only downside would be you and players would need to communicate via PM instead of in-game.

That's pretty much it. Happy for variations to the theme if it makes it easier to manage/improves gameplay.

Actually ignore that "downside" its no different to what I said for a non-gunboat game re PM's.

You could do like I do with my variant test games. Create the game and make a post in the modforum asking to be made GM, then leave the game when you're GM.

@gopher - its a normal game for players EXCEPT uber as GM will set in advance a number of random 24 hour times.

The winning thread continues as normal but the third to last post from the predetermined time gets to PM/contact uber with an order for one unit of a player. Uber then contacts that player and they have to make that move. Their remaining moves they can do their own.

Does that make sense?
