You said my fake claim was scum indicative.
In this setup you have 2 clears vs 2 scum.
If cop survives N1, and Doc survives N1 cop typically claims Day 2 on an inno or on a guilty.
If you use hypo*, town can garner reactions, stimulate discussion and see who acts like they know more than they should.
Hypo: a townie who poses as cop with a guilty. Its a guess and if real cop is aware of what that player is doing, or is not made uncomfortable by it; its incredibly powerful.
In my situation I truly felt DO was scum. I said it blatantly in my night posts and crumbed her as my scan to set up this play. If I were scum doing this, my extra layer of scumreading her, crumbing, and looking for reactions doesnt happen. As soon as she claims cop and has a guilty on snowy, I was aware that I could still use that opportunity to look for snowys teammate.
Normally such a play isnt harmful in this setup unless the following happens
¤your fake scan is doc
¤your fake scan was scanned inno
¤your fake scan is cop who scanned dead, because then you have to retract to save their life and town is in worse shape.
Now those are the worst.
But theres also these
¤you are correct, actually guess right 2/9 odds, and scum counterclaims out of panic
¤you are correct and real cop scanned the other guilty - game over
¤you are correct and scum has an awkward mixed reaction
My plan had a way to instantly win for town D2. I noted disrepency in demon. I misread it. And none of the worst case scenarios happened, we did in fact get snowy luckily, and of course I wasnt going to claim it was because of me. Ive played poorly and misread you. It happens.
That being said fundamentally cop always claims day 2 or day 3 in this small setup as long as they have a living clear or a living scum scan. So my fake claim came from this line of thinking.
Additionally theres another reason to fake claim as vt day 2.
Scum has every reason to fake claim if scanned guilty. Note snowy claimed doc. Scum only counter claims, they dont lead off with a fake claim because if their buddy is guilty scanned its insta loss.
What im trying to tell you, is the order of operations never goes
Scum fake claims
Real cop counter claims
Vt fake claiming erases the ability for the scum counter claim, and creates possibilities for landslide town win. Yes there are risks. Its a gambit. But the reverse gambit is illogical and doesnt exist.
You cant flush the cop out as scum because the risk exceeds reward. Conversely as town fake claiming, mathematically, strategically, fundamentally, the benefits are worth the risk.
Flushing out the cop, and roleblocking someone, and spraying that roleblock, faking a guilty, all of that combined as a scum strategy is effectively a 99% chance of autoloss. It simply wouldnt happen.
