Well, according to the Tie-breaking rule we agreed before the tournament started, the top 5 are:
1. Italy - LakersFan
2. Turkey - ccga4
3. Russia - Spartan22
4. Egypt - CubanJedi
5. Spain - Lukas Podolski (tied 4 SCs with England - Guaroz, but 1 SC more in 2004)
But LakersFan looked to be conceding to me (the 6th) by posting these 2 messages on Global:
Thu 11 PM Autumn, 2006: Either way. If England wants to continue in the tournament, I am happy to give up my spot. Pretty damn busy IRL, as evidenced by the numerous NMR's.
Fri 10 PM @Guaroz: Up to you and Spain. If either one of you would prefer to bow out, I could probably proceed. I just feel like I will run into a situation similar to what the good Cap'n mentioned, of not being able to get a good amount of diplomacy in the beginning of the game, which would doubtlessly lead to a poor showing. I have been trying to stop playing for a while now, and this tournament is the last thing I had to wrap up. I am fine with letting you both head to the next round.
Anyway, I assume LakersFan is allowed to change his mind and claim back his spot anytime before the next Round starts. Which, at the current pace, God only knows when it will start and Lakers could be not that busy anymore then, hopefully.
BTW, how about the other bracket game? Has it started? I can't find the link....
