First of all, I must confess that I've not been able to familiarize enough with this map.
I understand that the variant has to be constrained to the geo-political divisions of the continent.
But some regions/borders are really too small-sized. Rivers too are rather narrow.
Because of this, playability is low in south-eastern Australia.
My opinion.
This said, my congrats to New Zealand, Alcuin. Too late we've actually worked together to stop NZ.
Part of the fault is mine.
I took some extra-risks in the end-game and I payed them (army in Grampians dislodged in the last spring).
Pity, I could match some orders with Queensland but not with Western Australia.
I've been stuck in the middle during all the early game without taking a decision about who I had to attack.
I felt vulnerable on both sides. I assumed Tasmania was going in CD an he did not, so he felt betrayed by me.
Legitimate. That's why I never sealed off the coast.
Eventually, looking at the build sequences I decided to move on Queensland before he decided to move on me.
Well played to Queensland too.
I've measured your good skills during our clash. Actually you're the best player here! :P
Technically speaking it was me attacking you, cause I was sure you were going to attack me in '78-'79.
Your continuous resistance towards me was impressive, but NZ capitalized our struggle.
Year after year in the early '80s you've been telling through your build orders that you intended to continue fighting me.
I was glad that you eventually stopped fighting me, but when you did it, NZ was really close to victory.
Western Australia, I was expecting you to come suddenly in our help in the northern seas in the middle '80s.
I didn't understand why you stayed there still for a while.
Probably the outcome should've been the same, but why not trying to draw?
