Is that really it? In this case, I was also stabbed and would prefer to have begged forgiveness from the bloke I stiffed. But, because of his reaction we will both definately lose as we try and defend divided rather than counter attack.

What if you stab someone in a live game? O.o

There are no restrictions on chat, as different players find different types of communications offensive so it would be hard to construct an exact policy on this. Also, sometimes offensive language can be used as an effective Diplomacy tactic (google Diplomatic Pouch Chainsaw Diplomacy for some articles on this) which we would not want to restrict.

However, if you really dislike what he is saying there is always a mute button you can turn to. If you need to communicate I appreciate this may not be the best option, but if he's not listening to you anyway there's no point in continuing communications with him.

If you stab someone, there is a good chance they will become mad. Feel free to apologize... ignore them for a while... get mad right back at them... talk about them behind their back... or mute them. It's all up to you.

Remind them of the game they are playing. If he gets that mad at being stabbed he should not play Diplomacy!

I get mad at being stabbed, but most of the time I don't stay mad for long or it doesn't really surprise me when it happens. It's part of the game!

i don't really care lol the whole chemistry behind diplomacy is the backstab tactic
but yes people do get pissed when i stab them

As a generally abusive chatter.... Not all the time, only the times where I am fully invested in the game, I might let a word or two fly off the handle :P

I always respond to stabs with actual voodoo curses which I may or may not bother to tell the player about. Often the first thing he knows about it is when he finds he is unable to "perform" in the marital department.
