what is going on here then? are people trying to organize a game verse people from the sister site? I was on both but then kinda just stayed here instead of playing games on both... if there is a game I could be interested to play in it ^^

This game is looking for players. The global map is well play tested and has some interesting wrinkles for addressing play at sea. Give it a look:

@Yoyoyozo: Well clearly coming here to play classic is kinda pointless, but some of the variants here are either overplayed, e.g: Known world and Aberration, or incredibly imbalanced, e.g: Fubar, Karibik. I don't know what you have in mind for variant, but I should be flexible for most variants.

The sealanes game's join phase is way too short.

It's doesn't technically count as classic when there are different rules. I really like the concept of octopus. but I'm down for anything that isn't Pure. It just seems strange having a map oriented like that. And I don't particularly like the idea of starting off with one center and no neutrals, so pretty much most of the people eliminated is due to bad luck.

Actually I don't know what happened to site activity. I took about a year off nd when I came back there were hardly any games. It will pick up though, be patient. This is a great site with high quality games. Calling out the mods and calling it a sucky site won't hep you fill your games though.

Krellin, maybe you could just create the rumored game instead of yelling insults here.

On the subject of variants, I actually don't much care for playing Classic outside of an occasional time or 2. It just bores me compared to other stuff here. It was fun like the first time and then it felt like I graduated to other stuff? I don't know. Classic was my first game on here and I won as Turkey. Russia kinda just rolled over with half giving up and NMR's though/

Imperial Diplomacy II is one of my fave maps on this site but I have played it a lot by now.
