By normal team game, do you mean E/F/R vs G/A/T with a wildcard Italy?

read the second post.... that gives teams... by normal team game I mean nothing really special or different about it, no special rules or anything... just PPO instead of full press...

Meh, triples are too played out. Especially considering Italy gets to pick a side. If Italy chooses the western triple, nothing can stop them from steamrolling into austria and western russia immediately. And the eastern triple would have no chance of winning the mediterranean fight...ever. It would all come down to can the eastern triple get a stalemate up.

then what are your alliance suggestions? because the WW1 type games(E/F/R v G/A/T) are SOO overplayed...

I never suggested the WW1 type games. I merely pointed out that Italy should really always choose the western triple as it's a guaranteed draw if not flat out win every time. And that the game is massively tilted in the western triples favor if Itlay makes the smart chocie.

Personally, I recommend a different map.

like what? I don't want to do more than 7-8 players yet because It may be a bit too crazy... I want to see how this one works out...

Not sure butter. Classic just doesn't work well for triples IMO since the western triple is in a stronger position to start, and with the addition of Italy, they have overwhelming power.

ok fine than, to make it fair, Italy will be defaulted from choosing onto R/T/A
therefore, teams will be R/T/A/I vs E/F/G

that's the next one I plan to try it on... but once again, want to start on just a 7-8 player map first...

Pick an 8 player map. 4 v 3 is always going to be unbalanced some way. By sending Italy the other way, now you've freed up all Austrian armies to immediately bumrush Germany, while Italy goes to Piedmont and starts pressuring Marseilles immediately. In the end, now it's just a race for England and France to seal MAO and the Iberian peninsula while Germany holds off the rush in Kiel and Munich.

TBH, in big team games like that, with only 2 teams, I don't think there's much of a chance of one team winning. With any competent players, it should pretty much always be a draw.

unless I can't find more willing players, I am just going to do the classic custom start map... because I WANT to try it out on the classic map... If it doesn't work, I will try it on another map... but It's worth a try on classic.

You know what I always thought would be neat? A team game where teams are redrawn every time someone's eliminated.

uhh butter, I hate to rain on your parade... but thats not that epic. 1) in my "deadliest alliance" thingy, I tried WT vs ET, we cancelled it cuz nothing happened. like at all. adding Italy will change nothing. and the public press isnt that twisty. all it means is that you know the others teams moves. no secret alliances here....
I'd play a crowded, or maybe a player team game (teams are players, countries are random)

What about a WWII-esque setup on the modern board?
Allies: E/F/R/U/B
Axis: S/G/P/I/T

Just do where Italy is not there in the custom map.
