Diplomacy's swear weird practice
A USA diplomat is on YouTube saying on the Telephone to another USA diplomat, "F --k the EU". (European Union. Do VDip game players shun others who indulge in rude speech, chatbox Global or 2-way. The German chancellor is angered by this f-word incident, while the perpetrator so far kept her job and dismissed the telephone intercept as great "tradecraft" (her word). Up the EU, anyone? Bruxelles à bas?

Large World Game ...with Nukes!
I designed a large somewhat current world power game that is very unbalanced and very crazy towards the games end (nukes start to fly all over the place). Somehow it works out in the end (if you survive that is) by way of a political aspect of the game (a voting procedure that can't be ignored).

Trying to wind down
Folks, I'm trying hard not to join any more games for the time being. I started Radiation treatment last week and don't have as much time as I would have hoped to invest in the games I'm playing.

I'm sorry for any inconvenience this will cause but will be returning in February or March depending on how I feel after being zapped with enough radiation to make me glow in the dark for centuries.

Winter 1863 - President Jefferson Davis Erudite has gone missing and fled the once valiant Confederate States of America. After the fall of Richmond President Erudite established a provisional government in Austin, Texas at the beginning of the year. Apparently overwhelmed by the prospect of a long prison sentence or a trip to the gallows, President Erudite abandoned his nation, and his king. For all his failings though it must be acknowledged that he was loyal to the king. It has been confirmed that President Erudite was a loyal Knight in the court of King Double Capitals of Great Britain.

Long live the King!

Winter 1867 - MOSCOW - Amid emerging credible reports of his participation in the rebellion against the King, Tsar butterhead I has abandoned the people of Russia, and absconded. The scoundrel was last seen attempting to board a train to Riga, where information suggests that he was planning to find safe passage from the hand of justice. Some have suggested that the King dispatched a squad of elite highlander grenadiers led by Sir James Bond of Skyfall to capture the Tsar. While the details are murky at least one source close to the investigation has suggested that the Tsar sleeping car was found a blood soaked dagger and a suicide note begging forgiveness from the KING. The note allegedly concluded with the phrase "From Russia with Love"

Winter 1867 - LONDON - King DoubleCapitals has issued a proclaimation confirming that his agents had discover the missing and presumed perished Tsar butterhead I of Russia as unfaithful rebel seeking the overthrow of the king.

Long live the King!

Winter 1867 - El Presidente Capitan[meme] of Mexico has been found guilty of treason, and accordingly executed. The traitor's corpse was dismembers and the remains burned and ashes scattered across his former nation under a proclamation that never again will such evil be concentrated in one location. El Capitan's crimes against the king have been met with horror across the realm, and it is well and just that he met such a fate. Some have suggested that the poor perfomance of the Mexican Football Team drove El Capitain mad, and he blamed the downfall on English football's failure to develop Chicharito Hernandez into top class striker. But such claims are baseless as everyone knows that Chicarito scores more burritos than goals in Manchester, not a town noted for it's Mexican cuisine. Long live the king!

Stop voting for a draw, people. That is not the game that you signed up to play. The King is alive and under attack. He is not safe until all the rebels and traitors are dead. For the Rebels, the king is a tyrant, who must be put down. And for you traitors, all of these guys as jackwagons that need to be exterminated.

Put on you big girl pants, and go play the game that you signed up to play.

Knight in Turkey.

I believe that leaves Prussia as the other traitor (as I had been hoping for awhile since him being a Knight would have sucked).

And contrary to your believe god, you made quite a few foolish moves as traitor. The King and I knew you were a traitor approximately 2 to 3 years before you made your stab. The reasons?

1) Leaving armies adjacent to the Kings territories when they had no purpose being there, even after the King rejected your "proposal" to disband his army so he could rebuild it.
2) Getting angry when it was suggested that the King take some of your territory for builds. A true knight wouldn't get angry when asked to cede centers, since that's the entire purpose of being a knight...to keep the king strong. ESPECIALLY when you had useless units sitting around that could be disbanded.
3) Continually pushing more and more units into areas that were already stalemated...see the area around the Bahamas. Your last two fleets that ended up taking the bahamas were useless in the stalemate line, and could only serve to attack the King.

I'm sure there's more, but these alone gave away your role as a Traitor. But the real kicker was that you stabbed the king at a really stupid time. I had proposed to the King that he throw the game just to f*ck you over if the game had continued. Throw the win to the Rebels to show how foolish of a move that was. By stabbing, you single-handedly weakened the King to the point where his defenses elsewhere were screwed. There were 5 British SCs in N. America (i believe), and only 2 units, meaning he would have to disband 3 elsewhere. In addition, without your supports in the oceans, he was screwed in defense. France would have rolled over his homeland, causing him to lose another 5 SCs (again, I think that's right...greenland, ireland, london, edi, and norway) and 2 more in Russia (STP and MOS). 7 more units down, and all he would have had left is the Middle East (which was already in a tenuous spot) and a couple SCs in Asia. You should have waited until S. America was sealed up at least, so that you could have helped push back the Rebel units in the Pacific and conceivably kept him alive until the Rebels were gone.

Prussia was the traitor!
Unfortunately I never had the chance to set up a coup, with Russia taking my home s.c. in the first year and surrounded by rebels, there was little hope for me to regain a position strong enough to strike the king.
GOD (1791 D Mod (B))
29 Jan 14 UTC
Well what should i do? I could not allow you to weaken me.
I attacked the king in the hope to impose my will on him and not destroy him...he agreed to that, i don't know if he would have stuck to that of course...
drano019 (2710 D Mod)
29 Jan 14 UTC
If the King truly did agree to let you attack him and not retaliate so that you wouldn't "destroy" him, then the king made an extremely stupid decision. Why would he let you grow larger, just so you could fight the rebels, and then in turn, come after him in the end anyways? And even if that was the case, the fact that France took out a key space in the oceans due to you attacking the King (partially, his NMR was just as bad), pretty much sealed his fate in Europe. At that point, it didn't matter if you didn't "destroy" him, since he was pretty much outside your sphere of influence anyways.
GOD (1791 D Mod (B))

No one knows...i tried my best ;)
Apart from that i think the rules for the traitor should be revised...
drano019 (2710 D Mod)
29 Jan 14 UTC
Perhaps a suggestion or two would be in order to start the conversation on revised rules?
GOD (1791 D Mod (B))
29 Jan 14 UTC
I think that the game should go on when one side won. So if eg. The rebels have defeated the king and his knights, but there are still traitors alive, the rebels have to make out those traitors along their lines and eliminate them.
drano019 (2710 D Mod)
29 Jan 14 UTC
This has been discussed before. That idea completely screws over the Knights and King. The traitors have no incentive to work with the Knights then, since they can masquerade as Rebels with no repercussions. Imagine if in our previous game, all 3 traitors AND all 5 rebels played as rebels. The 4 knights and the king would be f*cked. They'd have 0 chance, because why would the Traitors help the King? If the king is victorious, then the Traitors would be flushed out 1 by 1.

Hello friends!

I have a little mini-tourney that I would like as many of you as wish to do so, play a series of 1v1 tactical diplomacy games that will allow me to find some good quality 1v1'ers to play against. I know there are a few of you who are quite active with these types of games, so I will present the following guidelines:
