Tomahaha and Defiant -- I guess your collective problem is that you think that your points actually add some value to your life. I would suggest that a mature player - one for whom it is not just a game, but a hobby - would gain the satisfaction they are looking for from their own performance, and not by the artificial measure of an admittedly arbitrary point system (arbitrary NOT just for the reasons you point out, but for any number of reasons inherent to the game site in general -- such as those that earn cheap points in WTA games due to CD's -- should someone NOT recieve points from such a hollow victory?)

So my problem with your argument is the utterly false importance that you are giving to something that most players with any understanding of the game/site recognize as a rather meaningless measure of once skill/worth/etc.

You will note that when you click on a persons name and up pops their "profile", you will find such wonderous stats are WINS, LOSES, DRAWS, ETC, along with reliability ratings, etc.

If I want to find out your skills and value as a player, I will check the real stats - not the 1000 you have because you gamed the system.

So...there it is. Grow up, view your world with a proper perspective by acknowledging the truth of what IS, not what you WANT, and your problems will f-a-a-a-a-a-a-de away...

My concern was twofold and you chose to ignore both. The POINTS are what motivates some and all it takes is a person or two in a game to throw it out of whack. We already posted an example where someone admitted to throwing the game so he could gain more points what else do you need to admit the folly of your ways?

One more time, enlighten us to other sites who play the game as you want us to believe is a valid option. Surely, if this is valid you can point to dozens of others? Heck, even one (Webdip excluded since this was a direct copy) would be nice. Yet still nothing but crickets and insults from your side. You insist this is acceptable yet nobody else does this, how can you say with a straight face that this is an accepted way to play...it simply is not.

Well, after looking at the game the started this conversation it's fairly clear why chavismo holds the opinion that he does for PPSC. He was rewarded with points for complete failure, and doesn't understand why anyone would be angry that he facilitated a solo so that he could be first place loser. This game is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with the PPSC scoring model.

Anyone who loves Diplomacy should have absolute contempt for this. But hey, chavismo, you should look up Retillion. He's probably already added you to his list of point monkeys, and as long as you hand him a solo, he'll hook you up with points galore.

currently stats read Won, Survived, Drawn, Defeated
my suggestion are Won, Drawn, Defeated, Eliminated
..get rid of the word "survived" when losing in a solo, you did not survive if you lost. You can still keep track of this finish by doing so but defeated is less attractive a stat than survived.

Here's a thought. If Defiant and his partner, Tomasuckall, don't like to play PPSC games, they should maybe choose not to pay them? Has anyone on this brilliant site thought of that?

But it creates a brand of player who learns to accept this as a valid way to play. It is not accepted elsewhere but hey, if they play here who cares? True but you are awarding one type of dip point to players who play either style. (players cross from game to game, I would hate playing a WTA game where we had some newbie who was brought up thinking losing was respectable) Those playing this silly PPSC format get more points for playing a less intense game. True, the person who solos gets fewer points that does the WTA solo player but all other s gain points faster and faster, they are rewarded for poor play. You can't compare the two styles of play means you can't assign the same dip points and expect them to mean anything to any body.

And while I know you are simply being an ass trying to get a rise out of others, point whoring IS our business isn't it? If you award points and expect them to mean something, then any system that allows for players to game the system to "whore" their points, players who make others stats look less impressive, that certainly becomes everyone's business now doesn't it?

Yeah, I joined a second game. It took points away from me, but I like to think of it as an investment. I am quite sure, I will come out ahead.
